A feature-length “faucumentary” in the vein of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, early The Daily Show, early The Borat Show, and Central European sociopolitical humour, And Now For Something Completely Cliché is a Beckett-like, visually minimalist yet narratively lush examination of the “state of the word” today, featuring some of the voices prominent in today’s “Word industry”.

Included is an art-film-within-an-art-film trying to construct a new language using nothing but the words “it” and “melts”, as well as a variety of advertisements, announcements, dialogues, and technical difficulties that usually disrupt the flow of televised programming but which, quite paradoxically, add to the richness and diversity of this “audiovisual event”.

This faux documentary was the second collaboration between Roman Korec and alter ego a. alfons o., and it’s a meaty one, so, sit back, relax, and laugh “moderately to a lot”, because that’s what, according to rigged market research, this program is supposed to do to you.
