An adaptation of a (now lost) short story from my (Early Writing Composed of Largely Plotless Stories, and a Long(er) Poem) collection — and possibly a more developed idea I first floated across in an earlier short story, “How to Avoid…” — Allegory No. 43 is a magical realist reworking of the Goldilocks fairy tale, centered on a young man of Southeastern European origin who, upon returning home after a day at work, finds a strange yet somehow familiar woman sleeping in his bed.

Starring Igor Serdarevic and Una Memisevic and shot almost entirely on location in a rental apartment off Burnaby Street in the West End of Vancouver, Canada, this first-year student film, written, shot and directed by yours truly, is also a quiet exploration of longing, memory, and the weariness in between.
